As we continue to build and bolster academic opportunities for students, 2024 saw a tremendous amount of growth in our Advanced Placement (AP) program.  The trends included significant growth in AP courses offered, student enrollment in AP courses, number of students enrolled in - and taking exams in - multiple AP courses, and in the number of students earning a passing score of 3 or above.

Notably, the number of students earning scores of 3+ jumped 22% over the previous academic year and 30% over the last 5-years.

A great marker for the AP program at LCHS, is the number of students enrolling in AP coursework. In 2024, 88 students enrolled in AP courses – our highest enrollment in 5-years. Also, 2024 saw the highest number of exams for students at 125.  This means that of our 88 AP students, many took multiple courses and exams.

Subject score highlights for 2024 AP exams at LCHS include:

  • 100% of our 2D and 3D Art Design students earned a 3+ score;

  • 90% of our Pre-Calculus AP students earned a 3+ score;

  • 71% of our Chemistry students earned a 3+ score;

  • 67% of our Computer Science A students earned a 3+ score.

Congratulations to our AP educators and students for a job well done! AP courses require a great deal of time and effort and these achievements are a testament to the commitment of everyone involved in fostering academic excellence at LCHS.
