Congratulations to Limestone Community High School student Ryder Becker, who was selected as one of two students to represent Illinois at Boys Nation. Ryder, who is about to begin his senior year at LCHS, attended Boys State in June. Boys State is a long-standing, prestigious, leadership and government education program sponsored by the American Legion. While at Boys State, Ryder earned recognition from his peers and American Legion representatives, ultimately being selected to represent Illinois at the national level – Boys Nation.
Among other opportunities at Boys Nation, the American Legion boasts, “the week of government training also includes lectures, forums and visits to federal agencies, national shrines, institutions, memorials and historical sites. Ryder joins Gil Harmon (class of 2004) as the only LCHS students to earn the distinction of representing at Boys Nation. Ryder represented himself, LCHS, and the greater Bartonville community extremely well in Washington D.C.
