The competitive Unified basketball team will compete in the IHSA Unified Regional tonight at 5:30 pm right here at LCHS. They will be playing the winner between Washington and Pleasant Plains. Please come support your Unified Rockets. If you are unable to attend the game in person the game will be live streamed.

Mrs. Covert's French students have been busy celebrating a lot recently! On February 2nd, La Chandeleur, our Pancake Day, several French students earned good luck for the year by successfully flipping a crepe while holding a gold coin in the other hand. French III students celebrated Mardi Gras with the annual King Cake Challenge. Andrew Parsons was this year's winner and so was crowned our Mardi Gras King!

February 5th - 9th is National School Counseling Week. This week is intended to highlight and celebrate the significant impact school counselors have in helping students achieve school success and plan for the future. The counselors and student services staff are an amazing resource for our school community! We hope everyone will take a moment to recognize the work they do to support our students and school community through academic, social-emotional and post high school services.
LCHS State Unified Representatives Ryan Lappie and Brynn Buskirk are in Washington D.C. this week with Unified Coach Stacey Seals, to participate in "Capitol Hill Day". Ryan and Brynn were selected because of their involvement on the state Youth Activation Committee, spreading awareness about the benefit of Unified Sports across the state of IL...and now across the country.

An exciting day for the LCHS Chess Team as they competed at the Sectional Chess tournament on Saturday. Out of 18 teams, the chess team finished 4th and advanced to the State Chess Tournament! Congratulations to Coach Stromberger and team!
